CAF Signs Five-year Deal with Qatar

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Qatari Football Association (QFA) are set to sign a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, May 6.

This was announced through a statement on on Sunday.

The statement said that the signing ceremony would hold at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, at 15:30 hours local time.

The agreement is expected to run for an initial period of five years and can be renewed thereafter.

CAF noted that the agreement would provide for exchange of experiences and capacity building in sports medicine, refereeing, administration, development, training, management, infrastructure, women’s football and futsal.

According to CAF, the agreement with the QFA was aimed at fostering overall football development in Africa.

In addition, the agreement would run concurrently with the existing partnerships linking CAF with FIFA, UEFA, CONCACAF and the English Football Association.
