Warri Wolves is hopeful its players who are on national duty will be released for next week’s CAF Confederation Cup second leg play-off against Congolese outfit, AS Leopards.

The team will seek to overturn a three-goal deficit when it entertains Leopards on Saturday, June 6 at the Warri City Stadium.

Five of its regular starters, Daniel Akpeyi, Solomon Kwambe, Azubuike Egwueke, Micheal Egbeta and Gbolahan Salami, are currently in the Super Eagles camp preparing for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next month against Chad.

Media Officer of the club, Moses Etu, confirmed that the club would contact the Nigeria Football Federation and the Super Eagles technical crew to ensure that the players were available for the all important game.

‘’Our preparation for the game is going on fine but it is important we have our players who are in the Super Eagles camp available to help turn things around.

‘’We have five key players in the Super Eagles camp and their availability will be vital for us.

‘’We are going to approach the NFF and the coaching crew for the release of the players and we believe they will duly oblige us,’’ Etu said to completesportsnigeria.com.
