President Muhammadu Buhari has, in the last few days, accused the immediate past government of Goodluck Jonathan of emptying the country’s treasury and consolidating corruption in public service, but on Thursday he got some knocks from National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (APC), Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, who expressed surprise at the president’s complaints.

Nwosu wondered why President Buhari and his party have been complaining of empty treasury when they ought to have known the state of the economy before and during their campaigns.

He recalled that despite full knowledge of the existing economic challenges, the party went ahead to seek the people’s votes only to start lamenting after just assuming office.

Nwosu noted that no excuse would be good enough if Buhari now fails to perform what they had promised the people.

According to him, the complaints coming from Aso Rock recently are laughable.

His words: “My advice to the government is, stop the complaints, face the work.

“The APC government is inadvertently causing more destruction to Project Nigeria.

“You asked for the job and the Nigerian people have rewarded you with their votes.

“Whatsoever Buhari sees there, was what Jonathan was grappling with when he was there.

“It is self-indicting if they claim not to know what they campaigned for.

Nwosu pointed out that out of the signposting of Nigeria across every network worldwide as a corrupt country will do the government and country no good.

“Nigeria has varied assets for the government to concentrate on, we are not all corrupt,” he said.
