Buhari, Obasanjo ‘Share Experiences’ Behind Closed Doors

Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was at the Aso Presidential Villa Thursday for a meeting with President Muhammdu Buhari to discuss a number of issues, including his recent trip to Borno State to assess the damage done to the North-East by Boko Haram.

Obasanjo disclosed this when the two emerged from the closed-door meeting, which lasted a little over an hour.

State House correspondents were given the impression that his audience with Buhari was about the damage done in the North-East by terrorists. He also commented about the 2016 budget, which has been the centre of a number of controversies, saying: “Before I will be able to tell you something about the budget, I have to read it and know what it contains and know what to talk about.”

President Buhari last week said he would carefully scrutinise the 2016 budget sent to his office for assent by the National Assembly before signing it into law.

Obasanjo, in answering questions from journalists, said he came to the Villa to ‘share experiences’ with Buhari: “You know that not too long ago, I was out there. I have come to share some of my experiences with him.”
