Yunusa Tanko, the National Chairman of National Conscience Party, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to change his style of governance in order to salvage the economy from total collapse.

Tanko in a telephone interview with Independent said, “Currently Nigerians are suffering and it appears the government has no grasp of the solution.”
The former Chairman, Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), explained further that the government needs to consult wisely on how best to solve the myriad of challenges facing the country instead of making it only an APC affair.
“The President must understand the different components that make up the country and make sure every segment is integrated into main stream of the administration to bring effective result.”
Tanko lamented that more than nine months after the present administration took over power, there is no indication to show that it is on top of many problems facing the country which it promised to tackle during campaign.
On the possibility of NCP aligning with other political parties in future election, Tanko who did not rule out the possibility stated that the best challenge facing the party is funding.
“Our major challenge at the moment is how to get proper funding for the activities of the party which have impeded our progress over the years.”
Apart from NCP, the problem of funding has been the major obstacle to opposition parties who have no access to state funding in the country.
The party leader disclosed that NCP which presented a presidential candidate in the last 2015 general elections would soon hold its national convention as part of the preparation towards 2019 general elections.
“We would soon hold our national convention as part of the preparation for the 2019 general elections,” he said.
He further disclosed that NCP is expected to reap in its membership drive from those members who are dissatisfied from their parties especially APC and PDP.
