Buhari Cautions South Sudan On Oil As Sole Revenue Base

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday,cautioned the South Sudanese government to learn from the mistakes of Nigeria and diversify its economy.

He told the outgoing South Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Makuet Riak, who visited him at the State House, Abuja, that exploiting the agricultural sector still remains a veritable means of diversifying the economy.

In a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity,Femi Adesina, the President was said to have told the outgoing envoy that Nigeria’s economy, which has been heavily dependent on oil over the years, was still suffering the adverse effect by the drop in global oil prices.

“Investing in sustainable agriculture is one of the best ways to provide jobs for the people and keep the nation productive.
