Anthony Sani, former national publicity secretary, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has described the allegations of budget padding in the  House of Representatives as an indication that President Muhammadu Buhari has a herculean task in his anti-corruption war.

Sani said, “And when you consider the attitude of the judiciary to corruption cases, then you can hardly avoid the conclusion that the Buhari regime has a herculean task as far as stigmatization of corruption in the body polity is concerned.

“It is a further manifestation of how deep corruption has eaten into fabric of the society which allows men of questionable characters to be voted into position of law making.

“With what has happened, it is an indication that an arm of this government with a mantra to fight corruption is yet to buy into it”.

Sani further stressed that the best way to stigmatizing corruption is for the government and the society to come together and discourage the practice of cash for peerage in the polity and ensure that proven cases of corruption are persecuted in record time.

Sani also stated that people with proven cases of corruption should not be allowed to stand and win election in the country.
