Freedom Hour

Exodus 1:13-14

“And worked them ruthlessly. They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them ruthlessly.”

Israelites were made to serve with rigor, the Egyptians made their life to be bitter every day. Their enemies insisted that  they must cry.

Anything that makes you to shed tears is an affliction. Anything that happens that make people to come and sympathise with you is an affliction. Something is happening to you and anytime you remember, you are not happy and you begin to shed tears. That situation is an affliction.

We have different types of affliction:

1. Short time affliction

2. Long time affliction

3. Life time affliction

A woman told me that she got married in May 1965 and as at three years ago, the woman told me she has never been pregnant for one day.

A man came to me few years ago and  said he has been sick since 1962. There is a particular sickness in his body and the man will be dried like dry fish. This is an example of a life time affliction. There was a man in the book of John 5:1 called the man at the pool of Bethsaida. This man was carried to the pool and was there for 38 years. Every year, the angel would come down to trouble the water but before the man stepped inside, another person would have gone there. The man waited for 38 years until Jesus came there.

Affliction is not good! It is a weapon in the hand of the wicked ones.

During the days of Joseph, the children of Israel were enjoying but the moment he died, the king that reigned after him did not know Joseph. Report came to the king that these people were slaves in the land and they were increasing everyday. A time would come that they would occupy the land and this king started afflicting them, killing everyday like today’s Boko Haram’s saga.

In most cases, enemies don’t waste their bullets. They look for the bread winners to slaughter. At times they will look for helpers of destny and terminate their lives.

A woman came to me with three little children. She told me she was living with her husband and that they have two storey buildings at Isolo. This man was so nice to her but the man died mysteriously. After the burial of the man, the family resolved that since the woman was not from the same tribe with them, if she did not want to follow her husband, she should pack her load and vacate the house with immediate effect with her children. That was a great affliction. The woman packed from Isolo to Akute. When I visited the woman, I found out that the house she packed into after the frustration has no window, no door and the ground was not floored. The woman cannot afford a room.

Enemy can look at you that you are happy, enjoying life, and send arrow of affliction to you.

Pharaoh vowed that he would afflict these people and that he would not leave them. He was killing them like animals but one day God rose. He killed all the first born and kill Pharaoh.

No matter how strong your enemy may be, he is not stronger than God. No matter how long your affliction may be, there is a God that can bring an end to it.

I pray for you that God that delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh and his hosts will deliver you today in Jesus name.

Pray the following prayer points:

Every long time affliction programmed into my life, expire today by fire.

You wicked elder responsible for what I am passing through, release me and die.

O God of Elijah, arise and deliver me by fire from the Pharaohs of my family.

God bless you.

See you on the top!
