A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bomadi Local Government of Delta State, Mr. Philip Gilor, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ignore calls for cancellations of the April 11 poll in the council area by the All Progressive Congress  (APC) House of Assembly candidate, Mr. Preye Okaba.

Gilor, who is the Personal Assistant (PA) to Mr. Mr. Nicholas Mutu, while reacting to a media report credited to Okaba, noted that it was a known fact most politicians who lose elections would always resort to casting frivolous allegations on their perceived political opponents.

He refuted the allegations that the member representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency Mutu, and Chief Oluwole Karetimi hijacked electoral materials in Wards 7, 8 and 9 Akugbene.

He averred that the APC House of Assembly candidate could not win his unit and Ward II Kpakiama, maintaining that “what was said about the Akugbene wards were mere figments of his imagination.’ Akugbene is PDP stronghold and nothing would make us to deviate from that; he should accept his defeat in good fate.”

Gilor said the people of Bomadi Local Government area know other parties than the (PDP) which, he said, was reflected in all the election held since 1999 till date, advising Okaba to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship.
