Royal Exchange Plc, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is providing free health insurance to the staff and pupils of the Pacelli School of the Blind & Partially Sighted Children for a one year period at the first instance.

Speaking during the official presentation of health insurance certificates and the educational materials to the school, the Group Managing Director, Royal Exchange, Chike Mokwunye, said, “one of the main objectives of our corporate social responsibility is to impart knowledge and assist the less privileged in the society, whenever the need arises, and as a responsible corporate citizen, we must be willing to offer a helping hand to those in society who need the support to become better citizens tomorrow”.

He added that “As children who already are at a disadvantage due to no faults of theirs, our aim is to make sure they learn valuable vocational and educational skills which in turn would make them more that capable of leading normal lives as responsible citizens who can fend for themselves and not be dependent on the larger society for any form of assistance”.

Mokwunye also commended the principal, teaching and other ancillary staff of the school for their humanitarian efforts in ensuring the students have the best education available to them.

Speaking on behalf of the school, the Principal, Rev. Sis. Jane Onyeneri, thanked Royal Exchange for coming to the aid of the staff and more importantly, the pupils.
