The recent biometric screening conducted by Skye Bank to detect ghost workers in Nasarawa State has turned an albatross as over 600 eligible civil servants now have their names omitted in the government payroll.
Independent findings have revealed that both  senior and junior staff workers from both state and local government areas of the state were affected by the widespread omission.
This is creating additional stress to the workers who are currently bemoaning their fate since Governor Tanko Al Makura administration begun a 35 per cent cut on salaries of civil servants.
Independent also gathered the affected civil servants have not received both March and April salaries as at press time.
Investigations further showed that the affected staff have not been served with any official letter with regard to the development but were directed to summit their Bank Verification Number (BVN) for correction.
Independent source who pleaded anonymity said, “The recent biometric screening conducted in the state affects my salary and others; I did not receive March salary, even my principal was affected, because he told me that even himself was among the victims.
He said we are more than 600.”
As a time of file in this report, efforts to speak with Mohammed Musa, the state accountant- general, proved abortive as he said, “I am not in town to speak with you. I travelled for an official assignment,” he said.
