Bead Making Business Is Rewarding – Azeez

In Nigeria’s today, the unemployment rate is high and the business environment is tough because of issues relating to the absence of adequate infrastructure and inconsistent policies on the part of government.

The challenges have made some people stay in their comfort zones and do nothing in the face of the prevailing harsh business environment in the country.

However, many Nigerians are braving the odds; they are not afraid to take the risk and become entrepreneurs in uncertain and harsh environment.

One of such persons is Olabisi Azeez, owner and operator of Bisfash Catering Service, a small outfit that is into the business of bead making, event decoration, cake making.

She says she is a creative person and loves to be creative, adding that she loves creating things because it gives her joy.

According to Azeez, “I love to create things that people see and appreciate.”

She told Independent in an interview that she learnt to make the beads at St. Mary’s School in Lagos.

The small business owner stated that she started her business in 2013, adding that the business has been good, saying that although it could be better.

On where she gets her raw materials for the bead making business, she said, “I buy my raw materials in the various markets in Lagos State and I operate my store at Ijora Street in Ajegunle area of Lagos.”

On the cost of the beads, she said, “The beads are affordable to most people because they are cheap. I do not charge much because I want many people to buy from me and when that happens, I sell more and do more beads.”

Azeez also told Independent that she has been giving back to society by training some young persons in the art of bead making.

She also said that Bisfash is into providing catering services on demand to individuals and corporate organisations.
