The Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP) governorship candidate for the December 5, 2015 election in Bayelsa State, Ekubo Prince Tari, has lampooned Gov. Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Gov. Temipreye Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that they misuse their opportunities to govern the state.

Speaking during his public presentation in Lagos by the party’s National Chairman, Oludare Falade, Tari maintained that both Dickson and Sylva o longer have what it takes to govern Bayelsa State, having failed to deliver dividends of democracy to the people despite the huge amount of money at their disposal.

Tari an Ijaw political activist of note, said he pitched his tent with the MPPP as both the PDP and APC have nothing new to offer the people, describing them as failed parties as far as Bayelsa State is concerned.

He lamented that both the PDP and APC are once again fieling candidates that have failed the people in the past, stressing that he is not afraid of Dickson and Sylva as MPPP is a people-oriented party, even as he maintained that he has paid his dues in the politics of Bayelsa State.

Tari, who has Isaac Akpartaziba Eze as his running mate, pledged that if elected the governor of Bayelsa State, he will implement the seven cardinal programmes of MPPP, which he listed as industrialisation and job creation, free primary and secondary education, qualitative tertiary education, infrastructural development, comprehensive healthcare, security of lives and properties, provision of electricity and gender equality.

He said his administration will tackle unemployment and check restiveness among Ijaw youths, gangsterism, kidnapping, cultism and other social vices in Bayelsa State.

He lamented that Bayelsa is among the richest states in the federation, but cannot boast of good roads and other infrastructure, while its hospitals are mere consulting clinics due to the maladministration of both Dickson and Sylva’s administrations.

Tari pledged: “The decaying infrastructure shall be given the much needed attention. It is a known fact that flooding is a major problem confronting our dear state and you will agree with me that the approach at solving this problem by successive governments has been cosmetic.

“I will tackle the menace of flooding with all my strength and give it the attention it deserves. All the dilapidated government properties will be rehabilitated and all roads which are in sorry state will be repaired.”

Presenting the candidate and is rung mate, the MPPP National Chairman, Falade stated that under Tari’s administration, Bayelsa people will experience good governance at its best as he is bringing on board the real change Bayelsans have been yearning for.

He stated that Tari is not a push-over in Bayelsa poitic as he was one of the foot solders of the late Diepreye Alamieseigha, former President Goodluck Jonathan and even Temipreye Sylva, all of who had opportunities of governing the state due to the support of the MPPP candidate, but failed to deliver.

He described Tari as a politician ith robust pedigree who can deliver democracy dividends to the Bayelsa people, stressing that his coming from the Southern Ijaw Locasl Government Area ia an added advantage to his expected electoral victory come December 5 pol in the state.

Falade called on the Bayelsa people to cast their votes for the MPPP candidate as he will deliver them from the several years of misrule under the PDP government, adding that the APC is not a better alternative o the ruling party, hence the two must be rejected at the poll for the emergence of a younger blood, Tari, who his party is presenting to them as a better alternative.
