Bayelsa Fire Claims Three Children Of Same Parents

The police in Bayelsa State have confirmed the tragic death of three siblings of the same parents after fire gutted their home at Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.

The police in a press release by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Asinim Butswat, said the fire incident occurred on Thursday 14 January 2016.

He said preliminary investigation indicated that the inferno was caused by candle light.

Butswat gave the names of the victims as Daniel Udoh, Saviour Udoh and Joshua Udoh, all males, whose mother was identified as Mrs. Favour Udoh.

He did not disclose the ages of the three victims.

He said the fire was put out after policemen at the Kolo Division responded to a distress call of fire outbreak.

“Preliminary investigation revealed the fire was caused by a candle-light.

“The corpses were deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Mortuary, Yenagoa, for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing”, Butswat said.
