Bauchi Restates Commitment To Orphans, Vulnerable Children

Bauchi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development has expressed its determination to support orphans and vulnerable

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Adamu M. Imam, restated the determination at the close of Global Fund Round 9, Phase 2 HIV/AIDS project in Bauchi.
Imam said the state government will continue to maintain high
collaboration with other agencies in order to improve the living condition of the vulnerable children.

Represented by the Director Child Development, Hajiya Larai Hammadu, he said it was part of government’s resolve to ensure that it shoulders the responsibility of such children
to improve their living condition.

In her address, representative of the Federal Ministry of Women
Affairs, Mrs. Gloria Nzuruike, said the ministry was delighted with the level of success so far recorded in the two and half years of the project.

She appealed to the state government to continue to remain committed to the success of the programme in the state.
Also, representative of the Association for Reproductive
and Family Healy said the project was billed to end on June 30 hence the decision to hand over the project to the state government to ensure continuity.
