Bauchi Police Charge NYSC Members On Security Consciousness

Following activities of Boko Haram in the North East, the Bauchi State Police command has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state to be security conscious.

The State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed who stated this yesterday while delivering a lecture on security tips to Batch “B” corp members at the NYSC orientation camp at Kangare in Bauchi state advised them to be conscious of their physical environment by paying close attention to persons,objects and avoid crime prone areas.

He warned the corps members to always be aware of who to receive gifts from particularly during the Christmas period in order to avoid explosive-laden hampers as gifts.

He said “Against the backdrop of prevailing security alerts in the country, the Bauchi State Police Command urges corps members to be security conscious of their physical and social environment. You are to pay special attention to persons and objects, particularly at motor parks, shopping malls, markets, schools and places of worships.

“I also urge you to save Police emergency numbers in your phones and call the number whenever you are in distress for prompt response through GSM number 08151849417”

Mohammed thereby urged citizens not only rely on security agencies for protection but should be security-conscious and provide useful information to relevant security agencies in the country.
