Bauchi First Admonishes Young Nigerians To Shun Drugs

Wife of the Bauchi State governor, Hajia Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar has charged children and youth in the state to shun drug abuse in order to have a brighter future.
Hajia Abubakar stated this on Saturday during occasion of Christmas  party organized for Children at Banquet hall of Government House Bauchi as part of activity to commentate this year Christmas celebration.
She enjoined them to always say no to drug abuse saying that drug abuse do not do any good to the body but rather destroys people’s life.

“Drugs are not food so ensure you don’t involve in drug abuse and do not allow anybody to lead you astray so that you can be useful to yourselves, parents and society.

“Your education is very important,,take your education serious  so that you don’t miss your chance and opportunity of becoming the leader of tomorrow.

“There is no any satisfaction or benefit to derive drug  but rather it destroys lives,” she said.

She also urged them not to engage in violence activities saying “it’s unfortunate  that we are being faced with problem of youth radicalism, our youths are being engaged in violent action. I want to enjoin you not to allow anybody to influence your mind or thinking negatively.

The First Lady advised the children to always ensure peaceful coexistence among their peers irrespective of their tribal and cultural differences.

She said “I want to urge you to  be an agent of peace  by creating awareness on important of peaceful coexistence as well as be your brothers keepers.

“Though Xmass is a time of merriment but we should also use the period to pray for peace and development in Bauchi state and Nigeria at large.

In her welcome address on behalf of Bauchi children, Princess Ibe, an SSS 3 student if Immaculte Conception Secondary School Bauchi thanked the governor’s wife for showing love to children of Bauchi state.

She said ” December 26, which is Boxing Day is a day gift sharing and showing love to people so we want  to appreciate Her Excellency for organizing this event to make us happy.

“We feel very happy for being part of this occasion because it’s a privilege  to meet with the First Lady and dine with her so we will forever remember that we met with the governor’s wife during our secondary school.

Princess Ibe commended the present administration of Governor Abubakar for its effort initiating new programs to ensure quality education in the state.

Meanwhile, the First Lady has assured christian community in Bauchi State  of the determination of the administration of Governor Abubakar to transform the state and ensure peace for development of the state.

Hajia  Abubakar who stated this in a press released made available to newsmen by her Press Secretary, Hajia Rashida Yusuf said “we want to assure the Christian community of the determination of His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Abubakar  to rapidly transform the state within available resources as well as support to peaceful coexistence for a better state devoid of sentiments.

“We want to appeal to Christian community to use the occasion of Christmas to pray for peaceful coexistence, Economic  recovery, stability of the polity as well as progress of the state and Nigeria.

She thereby urged them to support the APC led administration in its effort to transform the state.
