The Rector of the Federal polythecnic Bauchi, Eng Shu’aibu  Musa has disclosed that the polythecnic has not witness industrial strike in the last 6 years.

Eng Musa disclosed this  while speaking at the public lecture organized by the department of Public Administration held at M.L Audu Auditorium Federal Poly Bauchi on Wednesday.

He said “the Polythecnic has enjoyed an unprecedented industrial harmony over the last six academic sessions during which no industrial dispute was witnessed.

“This development is not unconnected with our policy of wide consultation, provision of rights and privileges to all staff and the observance of best practices in management-labour relations.

“The management also considers the issue of students welfare as Cardinal. We are in constant touch with the SUG directly and through the students welfare committee and the office of the Dean of Students as well as security unit.

The Rector revealed that the polythecnic in conjunction with National office for Technology Acquisitions and Promotion (NOTAP) has established its Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO).

According to him, the IPTTO centre is aimed at improving the Polythecnic research potentials by providing resources for inventors and innovators as well as help the researchers to promote their products.

Eng Musa said the polythecnic has vigorously embarked on staff training and development through sponsorships for higher degrees (MSc and PHD)  and conference attendance both nationally and internationally.

In his adress, Governor Mohammed Abbubakar of Bauchi State, assured  his administration effort to provide employment to unemployed youth in the state.

He said ” this administration has lined up some policies and programs aimed at improving the living standard of the people. In this regards, plans are under way to provide our teeming unemployed youth with employment opportunities.

He commended the organizer of the lecture saying “bringing together students and youths of varied and diverse political spectrum, cultural and historical background at this point in time when we are witnessing a rapid transformation aimed at complete change of attitude will assist in giving government a new direction.

“I have no doubt that this lecture will find a lasting solution to some of the pressing problems facing students of the Public Administration department in particular and the entire polythecnic in general.

Highlight of the occasion include award presentation to some distinguished personalities, presentation of certificates to out going NASPAS executives and inauguration of the new NASPAS executives.
