Bauchi – The All Progressives Congress (APC), Bauchi State, has warned again further moves in the alleged plot to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.

The party dissociated itself from the plot, believed to be the plans of the National Assembly.

Youths under the aegis of the APC Vanguard have carried outs series of protests in the state to dissuade senators representing the state at the National Assembly not to join others who are planning to impeach the President.

In a letter addressed to the speaker of the state Assembly and the governor of the state, signed by their Chairman, Nura Zungur.

It was copied to the Chairman, Bauchi Emirate Council, National Secretary APC, the State Chairman APC, Director SSS and the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, the youths warned that any of their senators planning this unpopular and unpatriotic move would face recall.

Reacting to the protest, APC Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Auwal Jalla, while fielding questions from journalists at the party’s secretariat in Bauchi on Sunday, said that that the state chapter of the party did not sponsor any group to protest against members of the National Assembly from the state.

He said: “The party does not have that time to sponsor any protest against any member representing Bauchi at the National level.”

Jallah, however, said that the protesters were exercising their democratic rights to air their views and grievances as long as they do that within the confines of the law.

He said: “As at now the party will not stop any protest against any member representing Bauchi at the National level because some months ago issues were raised and the party stood as a mother of all elected members to address that issue, but unfortunately we are having the same problem now.

“But we will not stop anybody from expressing their views. The party will call on the elected federal lawmakers to face their challenges and know how to solve their problems because during the campaign they made promises to the people to protect their interest and that of the party and the interest of President Buhari.”
