Bailout: Osun Pensioners Wants Special Treatment

Pensioners in Osun State have appealed to the State Government to give them and those still in service priority in the disbursement of the bailout funds from the Federal Government.

The pensioners in a communiqué issued at the end of its monthly State Executive Meeting held on September 3, 2015 at Government House Annex, Oke-Fia said that they were anxiously waiting for the bailout to ameliorate their state of living.

While lauding the Federal Government for the gesture, the pensioners noted that the bailout was the best way out of the current crisis being witnessing by Nigerians.

The communiqué which was signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Prince Rotimi Adelugba and Deacon Femi Babalola respectively also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for efforts at recovering all stolen public funds.

The pensioners further thanked Governor Rauf Aregbesola for allowing conducive and enabling environment for the successful conduct of the screening exercise in the state to fish out ghost workers and pensioners as well as determining the actual figure of the state workforce.

The group therefore advised Osun State Government and other stakeholders to allow for a reasonable dialogue between the workers of tertiary institutions and the government on early resumption in the interest of students and expressed fear that the opposition in the state have mingled and affecting their actions.

While soliciting their unflinching support and confidence to administration of Rauf Aregbesola, the group noted that the administration and its party has impacted on the lives people of the state and in the area of development of infrastructural facilities.

According to the group, “we want to show our appreciation, unflinching vote of confidence in the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the government of the State of Osun and All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party for the manner of handling the affairs of the people especially the pensioners.
