In the face of the ongoing national revamp and anti-corruption war, Chairman of The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos Chapter, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola has called on Nigerians, to turn away from corrupt practices and embrace godly lifestyles for the manifestation of the much anticipated change.
According to the Chairman, some Nigerians view corruption solely as when ‘politicians steal money’,  while leaving out disobedient acts such as-breaking of traffic rules,  non usage of pedestrian bridges and lackadaisical attitude of parents in raising disciplined children.
Being instrumental to correcting diverse societal ills, he did express that it is high time Christians lived exemplarily as the ‘salt and light’ (pacesetters) of the world.
Bamgbola, made this expression recently at the dedication service of Saint Mene Otubu Parish Surulere, Motailatu Church Cherubium and Seraphim Worldwide.
His words; “The word of the lord is sure forever.  Its unchangeable, it’s the same yesterday today and forever. When Jesus says upon this rock I will build my church, He is the rock and The church is built on The rock.  The Bible says no other foundation that is laid except that which is laid on Christ Jesus.
“Concerning our society we believe God that the church will arise and be the light and Salt of This nation that is when what Jesus said will be confirmed. We believe God that the church, and the nation is changing. Everybody is corrupt in this nation It is not only does politicians stealing money that are corrupt.
“Many of us do not obey the traffic light, many of us do not train our children the way we should train them for them to be good citizens. These are all part of corruption but we look at corruption as people stealing money but it goes beyond that,” he stated.
Speaking further, he underlined total obedience to God’s words as contained in the Holy Books and adherence to the laws of the land as sure ways to fast track the much awaited positive change.
On national and global terrorism, the Chairman termed the issue as part of the signs of end time which should rather draw people closer to God.
“The world is coming to an end that is why you see all these evils.  But with prayers God will deliver us and we will have peace in our land. Boko Haram will come to an end,” he said.
Agreeing with Bamgbola, The General Evangelist of Motailatu Church, Prof. Joseph Otubu expressed optimism of security stability in Nigeria.
“I have a feeling that insecurity will go. I do not see it staying for too long. The battle is fastened to achieve this especially in The North. Let us remember that it is not easy to totally eradicate terrorism,” Otubu said.
On his part, the Baba Aladura of Motailatu Church, Dr. Israel Akinadewo said indications abound that Nigeria is headed towards development.
As he spoke;”Buhari means well for our country. I have seen the sincerity of purpose. There are good signs that Nigeria is working towards advancement. I believe Nigeria will be better.”
