One time Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration in Osun State, Ajibola Basiru, has urged leaders at all levels to always think of helping the poor in the society.

He gave the charge during a prayer in commemoration of 69th birthday of Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Khamis Olatunde Badmus, in Osogbo.

Basiru lamented the high rate of poverty in the country, adding that there was need for the incoming government to address the economic situation for growth and development.

While congratulating Badmus, Basiru described him as a philanthropist who has given priority to helping the needy in the society.

He urged wealthy Nigerians to emulate Badmus in lending a helping hand to people around them at all times.

He also lauded Badmus for his contribution to the economy and development of the nation, saying “such is worthy of emulation by Nigerian leaders”.

“Asiwaju Badmus’ actions create inspiring legacies for others and demonstrate that leadership is not about self, but about followership and coming generation.”
