Contending squad Arsenal FC will try to hold firm to its third place standing in the English top flight as the 2015/2016 Premier League season slowly draws to a close as it clashes with newly-promoted club Watford FC at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
Arsenal was able to finally bounce back from a three-game winless slide during their last domestic match, a 2-0 blanking of Everton on the road at the Goodison Park on March 19th to stay four points above fifth-placed team Manchester City in the overall standings.
Strikers Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi who provided the two goals in the first half for Arsene Wenger’s side to help the team get back on the winning track after three straight poor performances are sure to be in the line today.
The Gunners are now six points behind second-running Tottenham Hotspurs and a far 11 points adrift of surprise league leaders Leicester City, who may perhaps win their first-ever Premier League title this season.
Wenger and his boys are holding on to the third spot of the table, which is the final Champions League group stage qualifying berth for next season.
Meanwhile, Watford is suddenly on a downward spiral as of the moment after being respectably successful for a newly-promoted side earlier in the season.
The Hornets are currently on a three-game losing skid and had been winless in five of their last six outings, which made fellow promoted club AFC Bournemouth overtake them for 13th place in the overall standings.
Watford is 11 points above bottom three relegation threatened clubs, though and head coach Quique Sánchez Flores’ squad will definitely try to stay away from going back to the Football League Championship next season.
