Arsenal is reportedly prepared to lavish £50m on Alvaro Morata this summer. Arsenal has cash reserves of £138.8million, despite spending £94m on players last summer. The club is expected to invest heavily in its squad this summer.

The 23-year-old Juventus striker on loan from Real Madrid was monitored by several clubs in the January window, including the Gunners and Manchester United. Reports last month suggested Juventus was worried Real Madrid would re-sign Morata just to sell him on for a profit.

And according to Spanish news outlet Okdiario, Morata has been earmarked as a potential target for the north London outfit. The report suggests Wenger has informed Real he was prepared to pay £50million for Morata’s services.

Morata has scored eight goals in all competitions for Juventus this season. In its bid to rebuild, Arsenal may lose nine stars this summer. According to Football Insider, Arsene Wenger is preparing a major
reshuffle of his squad after another disappointing season so far.

Arsenal was knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night at Barcelona – just three days after its FA Cup defeat to Watford – and faces a tough battle to win the Premier League as it sits 11 points behind leaders Leicester.
Wenger will reportedly look to sell full-backs Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Debuchy, as well as allow midfielders Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky to leave when their contracts expire.
It is also thought that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, David Ospina, Per Mertesacker and Olivier Giroud could leave the Emirates Stadium.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will enter the final two years of his contract in the summer and the winger is yet to agree terms on a new deal, prompting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham.
And back-up goalkeeper Ospina, who has been targeted by Everton to replace Tim Howard, is said to be keen to find regular football next season.

Defender Mertesacker could be tempted to leave if he loses his first-team status to Gabriel, while striker Giroud could reportedly push for a return to France.
