The 31 Artillery Brigade, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Nigerian Army, Minna, Niger State, over the weekend, arrested a suspected cattle rustler and recovered 97 Cows and 41 Sheep around Sarkin-Pawa, Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.

Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army, Captain Agwu Njideka, disclosed this to journalists in Minna, saying the cows and sheep were recovered during an operation by the soldiers.

She said, however, some of the rustlers ran away on sighting the soldiers but one of the suspects, Abubakar Hassan, was arrested on Thursday in an operation led by Lt. Col. Adamu Yakubu, Commanding Officer, 313 Artillery Regiment, Minna.

Agwu said the suspect and the livestock have been handed over to the local government chairman in the presence of the DPO Sarkin-Pawa division, the council secretary and village head of Zazzaga community in the area.

The operation to get rid of all criminals in the area was ongoing, Agwu said, and warned that the brigade, under the leadership of Brigadier-General Baba Ibrahim, would not tolerate any form of criminality in Minna and its environs.
