Army Kills Seven Militants In Bakassi Gun Battle

Calabar – Seven members of militant group, the Bakassi Strike Force, died during a gun duel in the wee hours of Friday when troops  of the Nigerian Army’s 13 Brigade, Calabar and Operation Delta Safe, repelled an attack on their position at Efut Isigi, in Bakassi local government area.

Bowing to the Army’s superior fire power, the surviving militants, some of who wore Nigerian military camouflage,escaped with gunshot wounds.

A statement signed by Captain KO Owolabi, Army Public Relations Officer of the Brigade listed items recovered during the attack led by Benjamin Ene, alias G1, the most wanted militant kingpin, to include: 250 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, Rocket propelled Gun luncher, GPMG Belt links and various charms.

He noted that the led the attack.

The statement revealed that the Nigerian Army lost none of their men and quoted the Commander 13 Brigade Nigerian Army General Bulama Biu as assuring that no militant group or criminal under any guise would be spared.

His words, “the military and other security agencies will continue to hunt down any militant group or criminals that do not surrender”

The statement quoted Gen Bulama Biu as appreciating the patriotic and good people of the state for their timely information, support, while urging them not to relent in their efforts and to go about their legitimate business.

Meanwhile, some of the militant camps and shrines had earlier been located and destroyed by the military after the first attack by the militants penultimate week that reportedly caught the Army off-guard resulting in damages on its side.

    Please do delete as many as possible or if possible self, all of them. When Boko Haram guys were being killed for terrorist act all of them says; YES. Now this so called criminals also deserve Capital punishment too because these are the Bastards and the terrorist among us. Nigerians are strongly behind Nigerians’ military!!!
