PEOPLES Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State Chapter has described  the allegation by All Progressives Congress (APC) that it did not win the April general election on the field as a frivolous allegation.

APC gubernatorial candidate in Delta State, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, made the allegation, purporting that PDP knew it would not win a proper election that is free and fair.

PDP Chairman in the state, Chief Edwin Uzor, at the weekend said the claim by the APC lacks merit and was only a figment of the imagination of a politician who should rather be nursing the wounds of his total rejection by Deltans at the polls than make frivolous allegations on an issue that is evidently clear.

He said the PDP maintains its stronghold of the South South, winning in all the states in the region where election held and Delta State, the home of PDP, could not have been an exception and that the peaceful, free and fair elections were widely commended by both local and international observers.

According to him, the deployment of Card Reader Device by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, made rigging difficult and that the state has nothing to lose being in opposition as the goodwill and good work of the PDP government under Senator Ifeanyi Okowa would remain its strength.

‘’I can assure Deltans and other residents in the state that PDP in Delta State would not be distracted in its quest to give the people good governance anchored on equity, fairness, transparency, accountability and justice. Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has set the pace for the incoming administration to follow and Deltans can only be sure of a better deal,’’ Uzor assured.
