Abuja – The Federal Civil Service Commission has approved the appointment of Mrs. Florence Nwaodike Anyanwu as the Acting Auditor-General of the Federation.

In a statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, Mrs. Anyanwu took over following the retirement of Mr. Samuel Tyonongo Ukura who attained the mandatory age of 60 years on June 5, 2016.

She would be expected to deepen the reach of one of the government’s most delicate agencies. With her wealth of experience and adequate knowledge of the system, Mrs Anyanwu is looked at as an ideal candidate to ensure a robust auditing system especially in this belt tightening era.

Her sound education and negotiation skill are the needed qualities to embark on a seamless transition in the system and to conduct inter-agencies collaboration towards a corrupt free system as revenue continues to dip.

Before her current promotion, Mrs Anyanwu was the director of Audit in charge of a complex web of government’s arms and agencies such as legislature, judiciary and security agencies’ department of the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation.

She acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1981 and proceeded to obtain a Master of Arts in Public Administration in 1982, all from Eastern Washington University, Cheney, Washington, USA.

Mrs Anyanwu has put in more than 32 years of experience as a professional auditor. She joined the OAuGF in 1984 as Auditor 1, and became Director of Audit in 2011.

She earned her membership of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria in 2004 and was conferred a fellow in 2013. She is also a member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Nigeria Institute of Management in 2011 and 2004.

Well deserved appointment. But please do not compromise your position in any disguise from dangerous politicians, money bags and dubious cooperate bodies who wants favour
