Lagos – Felix Anyansi Agwu, the chairman of Enyimba Football club of Aba, has written off any possible threat posed to his team by South African champions, Sundowns, ahead of the two sides’ clash on Wednesday in the ongoing CAF Champions League.

Sundowns host Enyimba on Wednesday in a match the Peoples Elephant need to win to remain hopeful of qualifying for the semi final of this year’s Champions League.

Enyimba lost to Zamalek 1-0 in Port Harcourt in match-day one of the 2016 CAF Champions League group stage, while their host on Wednesday, Sundowns, caused a big upset in Algeria at the same time after defeating host, ES Setif, 2-0.

The Brazilians have vowed to continue from where they stopped in Algiers, promising to ensure Enyimba do not leave South Africa on Wednesday with any point.

Coach Pitso Mosimane said on Tuesday that his side would not leave any stone unturned when Enyimba come calling, promising that the South African champions will win to consolidate on their leadership of Group B.

But speaking to Independent on Wednesday, Anyansi-Agwu said he was not perturbed by any threat posed by Sundowns, saying Enyimba have never been known to fear any side.

“That we lost to Zamalek does not mean Enyimba are out of the Champions League. Sundowns or even Zamalek will not be an issue. Who tell you that we cannot go to Egypt and still beat Zamalek?

“Football is not measured like that. Yes, it was a massive result for them in Algeria but they should be weary of Enyimba because we have been wounded and they may likely pay for it,” Anyansi promised.
