Amputee Soccer Day Holds In Kwara

Maiden edition of Kwara State Amputee Soccer competition will holding on Tuesday 18th August, at the main-bowl of the Kwara State Stadium in IIorin beginning from 10:00am.

According to Sarafadeen Olalekan Oyeleke a youth corp member, who is also the coordinator of the project, the idea behind Amputee Football is to empower those with the challenges with high level of passion for football, enjoy the game in their own little way.

Sarafadeen, currently a member of the National Amputee Soccer team, stressed the need to give amputees the support to achieve their dreams in life which includes sporting activities.

Dignitaries expected at the ceremony are the Wife of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed, Permanent Secretary Ministry of

Sports and Youth Development, Mrs. Rhoda Ajiboye, Kwara State NYSC State Coordinator Mr. Moisudi Adebayo Amusa, Director of Sports Kwara Sports Council, Mallam Tunde Kazeem, President National Amputee Football team of Nigeria Hajia

Ladidi Lamido, World Amputee Football Federation Secretary General Mr. Mawuli Viwotor, Amputee footballers and host of others.

The members of the soccer team have intensified their training to have a successful outing. Many Nigerians who had been witnessing their training programme marvel at the creativity behind the game.
