The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has urged the new Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Abdul-Majid Ali to be proactive in his fight against cultism and other nefarious activities.

The governor who stated this on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta where he commissioned the renovated office of the CP, lamented the recent spate of cult related activities in Sagamu and Abeokuta, the State capital.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa,  Amosun, however, expressed hope that having served in the state before his current assignment, the Police boss was in a good stead to tackle the menace headlong.

The governor, therefore, charged the CP to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his duty, promising continued government support in the fight against crime.

In his remark, Alhaji Ali assured the governor that his team would not rest on its oars in tackling the menace of cultists in the state.

He pledged to rid the state of criminal activities.
