The Technical Adviser of Enugu Rangers International, Imama Amapakabor, has expressed worry at the plight of the players over their unpaid salaries noting it could jeopardise the team’s programme.

The coach made the statement in an exclusive interview on Monday while dwelling on the players’ protest over the Enugu State’s government inability to pay their salaries which has accumulated to five months.

The coach who appreciated the plight of the players affirmed there is need for sanity to be restored in the camp to enable them prepare adequately ahead of Week 20 crucial game at Enyimba.

“At the moment all is not well with players. Their salaries are not being paid and they are not happy.

“Something has to be done so that they can be in good frame of mind to prepare for their next game against Enyimba, which is very crucial,” Amapakabo said.

Meanwhile, the former Sharks of Port Harcourt handler has said that there would be need to beef up the squad to enable club meet its season’s target of grabbing a continental ticket.

“The club has a target for the season and that is to pick a continental ticket; to achieve this target there will always be need to beef up the various department of the team,” he said.

Ampakabo took over from Kelechi Emeteole at the middle of the first round of the 2014/2015 season as interim head coach and was later confirm the Technical Adviser following his impressive performance.
