The much anticipated face-off between the minister of Transport and Aviation,  Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike,  has come and gone but its fallout still haunt the different towns, cities and villages in the oil rich state. The minister who was aware that the governor abhors the presence of security officials on the streets on election day,  resorted to moving around the place with truckloads of battle ready security men ranging from soldiers and policemen to National Security and Civil Defense operatives among others.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain overshadowed the governor in this aspect while the governor’s party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) swept the polls.
