Akugbene monarch commends Uduaghan over developmental projects

Pere of Akugbene Kingdom in the Bomadi Local Government area of Delta State, Pere Kalanama VIII, has commended the state Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, for bringing developmental projects to his area.

The monarch made the commendation during the official commissioning of the 447-metre flyover in Effurun by the Governor.

The royal father, while addressing newsmen during the event, noted that that it was the peace and security being enjoyed by the people that attracted such massive flyover project to the area in addition to a private shopping mall, the Shoprite complex, which will also be commissioned soon.

“You usually find Shoprite at state capitals but now you have one in Warri which is because there is peace and security.

“In fact some years ago, the name Uvwie used to be synonymous with crises and violence but now everywhere is calm, especially after the just conclude elections when everyone thought that violence will break out.

“So that will show you that Deltans massively voted for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.”

The Pere, while commending the government and people of Uvwie, also urged Deltans, especially in Warri and its environ, to maintain the relative peace that Uduaghan has entrenched “so that we can deepen it to have more peace to attract more developmental opportunities”.

Other royal fathers present at the commissioning include the Ovie of Uvwie, the Orodje of Okpe as well as other political leaders from far and near.

Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Henry Baro, while congratulating the Governor, also pledged to imbibe maintenance culture on the flyover, as well as other developmental projects being executed by the government.
