Aigbokhoade Charges Catholic Men To Be Merciful And Exhibit Good Leadership

LAGOS – President of the Catholic Men Organization of Nigeria Archdiocese of Lagos, Mr. John Aigbokhaode has charged all Catholic men to  always strive to show mercy to others and be good leaders of the Organization.

Aigbokhaode, a former banker made this appeal in his speech during this year’s Annual Convention of the Archdiocesean Catholic Men Organization held at St. Gregory College Obalende in Lagos.

Speaking on the theme: “The Merciful God”, the CMO scribe said that while catholic men seek mercy from God it is imperative that as members and leaders, they must show mercy to the Organization which could be done through being good followers, listeners and  leaders.

He emphasized that knowledge is actually useless, unless the members make consciously decide to apply it as every little idea apply shall surely produce a transformatory impart to the Organization, the members and the entire society.

His words: As leaders we must be mirror to our followers and should therefore not fail to focus on the most important aspect of leadership, which are: character, integrity and intelligence in order to avoid living a life of fear and pride with lack of ability to differentiate between right and wrong in all of our dealings.

Over 6,000 Catholic men from various Deaneries were inducted into the organization after taking oath of allegiance.

Some of those honoured were: Rev. Fr. Augustine Nnaemeka, Dean of Agege Deanery CMO and Senator (Dr) Anthony Adefuye, one of the frontline catholic members.

Others present were: Chief Host, Most  Rev (Dr) Alfred Adewale Martins, Archbishop of The Metropolitan See of Lagos, who was represented by the Vicar General Rt.Rev.John Aniagwu, CMO Chaplain Rev (Fr) Daniel Nwankwo, Director of the Lay Apostolate Centre Rev. Fr. Innocent Opogah, National President of the CMON, Dr. Basil Adebajo, Mr. Callistus Orjinta Ecclestical Province CMON and Chief Emeka Asoegwu ADCMO President Emeritus.
