A 62-year-old estate agent, Sule Akinyemi, has been arraigned in Lagos for allegedly obtaining N550,000 belonging to an accommodation seeker.

The accused, who lives at No.1 Dipo Olubi St., Aguda, Surulere, a Lagos suburb, is facing a two-count-charge of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretences before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

Police prosecutor, Jimah Iseghede, told the court that Akinyemi had on February 11 at 3.00 p.m. at his residence obtained N550,000 from one Mr Ayodele Ayedun, an accommodation seeker.

“The complainant sought the services of the accused whom a mutual friend of his had formerly introduced to him.

“The accused showed the complainant the said vacant accommodation at Aguda in Surulere, after which they both agreed upon the rent and the complainant paid on February 11.
