Agali Advises On Team Discipline

Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Agali has charged the participating teams in the ongoing U-1`5 VCN football competition to shun social vices that can bring the tournament into disrepute.

Agali disclosed this at the media briefing and cup presentation of U-15 VCN Football competition recently at the SWAN secretariat of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Former Schalke 04 player said indiscipline players cannot make career out of the round leather game and admonished the coaches and club owners to educate their players on how to behave on the field of play and off the pitch.

He explained that many players who excel in their football career today imbibe good character both off and on the pitch and tasked the players to be good ambassadors of their clubs in the ongoing tournament.  “My advice for the young players is to remain focused and do away with vices that can ruin their football career. Also, all the teams should always obey the rules and regulations that guide the competition. I wish all the participating teams all the best in their outings,” he said.

In his own comment, cup donor who doubles as Chairman of VCN Sports International Limited, Nwaribeaku Victor said he sponsored the second edition to promote the round leather game in Lagos State.

He disclosed that the winners will go home with sum of N200,000 with a trophy, while the first runner up and third place position will receive N100,000  and N50,000 respectively.

In the matches played so far at the Oshodi Sports centre, Oroge FC   lost 4-5 to Christ Embassey Nero FC also suffered 4-5 defeat in the hands of Fortune FA, Smart Striker defeated Awolowo way FC 1-0 as Diamond Stars beat Rising Stars 1-0
