The All Africa Junior Golf Challenge which teed off on Sunday will come to an end on Saturday at the Kataoui Golf course, Sousse, Tunisia as Nigeria hopes to pick a ticket for the world event in Tunisia.

The four-man team competition has Nigeria being represented by Aminu Mohammed of Bauchi Golf Club and captain of the team; Odeh Alechenu of Otukpo Golf Club, Benue State); Olakunle Olalere and Paul Bamikole both from Rosani Golf Club, Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Invariably, Mohammed has been the cynosure of all eyes for the Nigerian team going by his reach credentials at past junior tournaments as he is expected to motive his teammates to victory.

Mohammed won the 2015 NGF/Awa Ibrahim Junior National Open which held at Ikeja Golf Club, Lagos in October; he was ranked number in his category at the December 2015 Junior Masters at the Smokin Hill Golf Resort, Ilara-Mokin, Akure, Ondo State and was part of the six-man team that represented Nigeria in a similar junior tournament in Kenya last year.

The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) President has earlier in an interview said that he has faith in teenagers ability to perform in the competition as the winner will represent Africa at the world event in September in Mexico.

“I have no doubt about these boys ability to make Nigeria proud. They have in their previous tournaments shown some convincing talents and skills. The captain in particular is a champion at various junior tournaments,” the president said.
