Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Adamawa State in the April 11 election, Nuhu Ribadu, may be running a lone race for the state’s number one seat at the moment.

This is consequent upon reports that some chieftains of the party in the state have jumped ship to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Those who have reportedly left the PDP for APC as at Wednesday are former Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Jonathan Zwingina; former Minister of External Affairs, Idi Hong, and two serving Senators, Bello Tukur and Ahmed Barata, as well as Sadiq Haske.

Zwingina, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, said they decided to pitch their tent with the APC to support the party’s governorship candidate, Bindow Jibrilla.

“We want to be part of the positive of the change going on now in the country; we believe in the candidacy of Bindow,” he said.
