Adamawa State former Governor, Murtala Nyako, was on Saturday, June 6, 2015,  given a tumultuous welcome on arrival from Abuja to Yola by his supporters.

The crowd

chanted: “Baba oyoyo; we love you; we want you because you spoke the truth but they wanted you crucified.”

Nyako was in Yola to express his condolences to victims of the suicide bombing that claimed 40 lives and injured over 27 others who are now receiving treatment at the Yola Specialist Hospital and the Federal Medical Centre, Yola.

He condemned the attack and prayed God that such would not happen again, adding that the killings were uncalled for.

Addressing supporters who besieged his residence, Nyako thanked them for the show of support and solidarity during his impeachment and after.

Nyako said that he had been vindicated in view of what had so far happened since his removal up to the defeat of Goodluck Jonathan.  “Though we advised the previous administration, they took offense and have seen the result. I told Goodluck Jonathan that the way they were going was wrong but instead they sponsored a sham impeachment of my government”.

“I want to thank the people of Adamawa for their contribution in voting PDP out. We now need to support our brother, Buhari, who is reliable to deliver”, Nyako said.
