A business tycoon and a philanthropist, Chief Daniel Richard, has
accused Adamawa elders and political elites for the truncated
developmental strides of pasts and present administration in the

Chief  Richard who spoke with journalists on Sunday in
Government House, Yola maintained that these group of elites have been
eating fat from the resources of the state since its creation thereby
blocking any development that could have taken place.

According to him; these group of elites within and outside the state
who ate fat on the State resources are poised to fight governor
Mahmmadu Jibrilla as the Governor refused to share the state resources
as well as given them contracts that could be at the detriment of the
State government and the people”

He noted that though “I do not believe in APC ideology but I
personally decided to visit and inspect some of the government
projects in the state capital, and believe me, I am impressed; with
the road network on ground”

Chief Richards debunked the notion of so called minorities and
majorities since this only helps to impose bad policies on the people.

Adamawa State, he stressed, has produced the most prominent people in
the country but with little to show for development.

He however promised to expose the names of such elites in due course.
“Our State has produced more prominent personalities than other
States but with little to show for development, because it had no good
leadership,” he says.

Chief Daniel Richard further said that the State has been unlucky in
not having good leadership and also having had different Governors
ranging from the military to civilians.

But gentlemen he continued, now that Governor Muhammed Umaru Jibrilla
is trying to transit the State for better, some people have been doing
everything to frustrate his efforts to which they will fail.

“When I got this wind, I decided to come down to Yola myself and I
have gone round all the projects being undertaken by Governor Bindow
and all the construction works are ongoing so I see what the peddlers
of under-development are doing to undermine this administration as
very sad and unfortunate” he enthused.

He also advised that the press has a bigger role to play against the
insurgency taking place in especially the north east.

According to Richard, it is also only in Nigeria that the Government
treats the Press as underdogs adding that the media has no better
incentives, transportation to make them work for the betterment of the

He believes that it was regrettable that once a pressman finds
himself in the comfort of governance, they forget about the larger
press hence the discomfort among media men.

Journalists he further noted have been paying the price for the role
they play in publishing the truth.

Responding to a question, Daniel Richard says Boko Haram started as a
scam adding that the present administration has done so much towards
crippling them.

Speaking on the recent attack on a new Mosque at Jambutu area of
Jimeta, he said it is not only condemnable, and called for better
synergy between the people saying the police had claimed they were not
informed about its commissioning of the said mosque.
