The Ambrose Ali University (AAU) Alumni Association, Sapele Chapter, has made bold steps towards improving the quality of education in Sapele and Ethiope West Local Government Areas of Delta State in particular and the state in general with the donation of  Mathematics and English language textbooks to schools in Sapele, Oghara and Jesse communities in the local government area.

The chairman of the chapter Mr. Johnson Idolor Akpolome who made the presentation said that the association believed that there was need to render assistance to schools in Sapele and its environs to enhance students’ performance in their studies especially in the areas of Mathematics and English language.

Schools that benefitted from the donation include Orefe Secondary School, Oghara; Ukavbe Secondary School, Oghara; Ufuoma Mixed Secondary School, Sapele; Zik Grammar School, Sapele; Ethiope Mixed Secondary School, Sapele.

Akpolome enjoined the beneficiaries to use the books judiciously and not to keep them permanently in the library. He said that from time to time the association would visit the schools to ensure the books were well used according to the aims and objectives of the association, which is to ensure that the children become greater tomorrow in their respective discipline.

The Principals of the schools while appreciating them for the gesture assured the association that the books would be used properly by their schools in impacting knowledge to the students.
