Barcelona have revealed record revenues of €679million (£569m) for 2015/16, an increase of nearly €120m on the previous season.
According to the club also announced their post-tax profits for the year as €29m in a season where they won La Liga but couldn’t become the first club to retain the Champions League.
“The season has been absolutely extraordinary,” said club spokesman Josep Vives.
“We have beaten the club record with €679m of revenue.
“This speaks to the running of the club, not only the board but those working in every department.
While the club still posted profits of €29m, these would have been significantly higher had judges not forced Barcelona to unload €47m on buying back some land it had sold under Joan Laporta’s presidency.
The Nou Camp club are looking to increase commercial revenues and recently signed a one-year deal with Qatar Airways to continue as their sponsor. A new bumper deal is expected to be announced next year after prolonged negotiations with a raft of tech giants including Amazon.
Barca’s hike in revenue puts them top of the Deloitte Money League, lifting them from second place and above arch rivals Real Madrid, but the side from the capital are expected to regain top spot when they announce their results for 2015/16 in early September.
