According to unofficial reports, Hon. Elijah Adewale, the lawmaker representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency of Lagos State at the House of Representatives, has reportedly died after slumping early Thursday morning at his residence in Abuja.

Adewale’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed, even as family, friends and associates are still in shock about his sudden demise.

Sources in Abuja told PM News that the lawmaker attended the caucus meeting of the House of Representatives Wednesday evening and was apparently hale and hearty.

Born in 1951, Adewale was a former Special Adviser on Education during the first term of former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State.

He attended Ilesha Grammar School, the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and the Lagos State University, where he obtained a master’s degree in 2005.

Prior to becoming a member of the House of Representatives, he was chairman ifako/ijaiye Local Government Area, from 2004 to 2007; he was made the Special adviser on Education to the Lagos State government, from 2009 to 2011.

In 2015 he ran on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress and won to represent Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency.
