Abuja – Burial arrangements for the late Eunice Olawale, slain preacher of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), earlier scheduled for Wednesday, July 14, 2016,  has been suspended indefinitely to enable the police conduct thorough investigation into incident and bring the culprits to justice.

The development was also to allow the family conduct an autopsy on the slain preacher.

This was disclosed by an area pastor of the RCCG, Biola Egebeyemi, who said that the decision was taken by the family of the deceased with a view to allow thorough investigation on the immediate and remote causes of her death.

Shortly after news of the dastardly act broke out, the police had announced that they arrested six suspects in connection with the murder.

Egebeyemi also stated that the family has engaged Femi Falana (SAN), renowned human rights lawyer, to hold their brief in court in a bid to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.

He maintained that any plan to sweep the matter under the carpet would be resisted and justice must be seen to be done.

“A new date will be fixed for the burial and it would be communicated accordingly,” he said.

The late Eunice was cut down in  cold blood by yet-unidentified assailants as she made early morning preaching rounds in her neighborhood in Kubwa, Abuja, last Saturday.
