3SC Will Escape Relegation, Assures Ogunbote

Gbenga Ogunbote, the Shooting Stars of Ibadan coach, has assured that the Oluyole Warriors will escape the drop at the end of the current league season.
Speaking ahead of his side’s week 22 clash against champions, Enyimba of Aba, Ogunbote said he was not troubled over the current position of the club, assuring that at the end of the campaign, the Ibadan club will still remain in the elite league.
“We may be down there but certainly not out. 3SC may be at the base of the league table but remember we still have a lot of matches to go this season.
“We are not apportioning blame over why the team is so low on the table. That could be because of so many factors, but this is a new era in the team and we will not be relegated.
“Against Enyimba, that will be a huge match and the one we will have to be at our very best, but I am sure that at the end of the encounter, it will be Enyimba that will be at the receiving end,” he said.
Enyimba, meanwhile, visit Ibadan on the back of a poor run, which has seen them winning only two matches in the last five, with an uninspiring 0-0 draw against Rivers United in Umuahia on Thursday being also a huge blow to their defence of the title they won last season. The team is placed sixth on the log while 3SC 18th, deep into the relegation zone.
