Lagos – As part of its effort at repositioning itself and setting a pace for reactivating housing developments in Nigeria, the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) has completed its ultra modern edifice located at CIPM Road, Central Business District, Alausa, due for commissioning on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

The edifice which is going to contribute a huge relief to the office space challenges in the metropolis is billed to be commissioned by the executive governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, supported by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

Developed by Centre Base Consult Limited, a dynamic indigenous company with well experienced in-house professional members of the built environment; the office complex seats on a 2,239sqm land mass.

According to the Corporate Affairs Manager of the association, Toye Eniola, it comprises 95 office suites of averagely 19.5sqm per suite, and beautifully constructed and designed to serve the business needs of Nigerians. Its accessibility will contribute to fostering efficient and smooth business operations.

“It is equipped with neat and tasteful finishing; 24 hour power supply; fully air conditioned convenience rooms, fully functional lift facility, fully serviced security with close circuit televisions. It has an ample parking space for occupants and their clients. This is to prevent the parking nuisance which has become the lot of most complexes with limited parking space.

The four-storey ultra modern tower is constructed on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) agreement of Build, Operate and Transfer basis for a period of 25 years.

Continuing, Eniola said, “The commissioning programme will be rounded off with the 95th council meeting of three associations which will take place at the Lagos Airport Hotel same day. The council meeting will among others deliberate on and critically appraise the challenges/constraints of the housing sector in mass housing production over the years, ascertain the relevance and prospects of the association and its members in promoting housing stocks with a view to proffering and formulating workable options for effective housing delivery towards reducing and eradicating homelessness and bridging the housing deficit gap and shortfall in Nigeria.”

AHCN is the umbrella body for federal and state housing agencies, mortgage institutions, housing research establishment and private property developers/financiers, including Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) and Lagos Building and Investment Company Limited (LBIC). It was established in 1964.
