Uyo – As part of the initiative to empower Akwa Ibom women to be financially self-reliant, the Legislators Wives Association (LEWA) has concluded plans to host Nimi Akinkugbe, a world class financial expert.

Nimi is expected to engage a cross section of Akwa Ibom women drawn from various parts of the state on some practical insights on personal finance and wealth management issues.

The initiative by LEWA may not be unconnected with the desire to ensure that every Akwa Ibom woman is practically empowered on how to make, save and invest meaningfully to become financially independent and empowered to support their families.

A release by LEWA and made available to Independent indicates that the event is slated for ?June 18, 2016 at Ibom e-library, Uyo, and has so far been promoted at various social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter for those who may wish to join Akwa Ibom women in this quest for financial insight.

Akinkugbe on finance” is expected to expand financial ideas of Akwa Ibom women, especially the small and medium scale earners and strategically position them to detect and promptly grab opportunities to save and invest for the future.

LEWA therefore encouraged Akwa Ibom women to take advantage of the ingenuity to benefit from Nimi’s wealth of experience in financial matters and be better equipped to educate other women on money matters.
