300 Teachers To Benefit From MultiChoice Digital Training Programme

MultiChoice Nigeria, has concluded plans to train over 300 secondary school teachers and principals in the digital audio-visual teaching techniques  in an effort to increase knowledge in digital audio-visual education.

The one month training exercise which will take place in; Ebonyi, Oyo and Kano States from September 13- October 6, 2016 will enable teachers and principals of Secondary Schools to utilize the MultiChoice educational resource centres effectively.

Speaking on the training exercise, the Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr. John Ugbe said MultiChoice is set to rollout and revamp 60 digital education centres; known as the MultiChoice Resource Centres.

He further added that, ‘the training exercise is part of the value MultiChoice imparts in the teachers of beneficiary schools, because it brings them up to speed on how to navigate the resources and make maximum use of every learning session.

Ugbe, explained that the MultiChoice Resource Centre is a flagship corporate social investment project of MultiChoice; “the project involves the provision of a TV set, DStv Explora decoder, satellite dish, power generating set, Uninterrupted Power System (UPS), sets of chairs and tables for the laboratory, and other equipment” he said.

He further noted, “we also avail students access to educational TV channels which include; Discovery, National Geographic, History Channel, ED and Mindset, at no cost to the beneficiary schools” he pointed out.

The project, introduced to improve the knowledge levels and understanding of technical subject areas by students, is in its thirteenth year and has been launched in 363 schools in 31 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Abuja.

MultiChoice implements the training programme in partnership with Innovative Technology Literacy Services Limited (ITLSL); a consultant in the ICT and digital education programme.
