Abuja – The Nigeria Football Federation is open to any measure by the Federal government to ensure that Nigeria qualifies for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Amaju Pinnick, President of the NFF gave the hint on Tuesday, on the premise that such measures would no doubt complement whatever the federation was doing to ensure the country qualify for the World Cup.

He was responding exclusively to grapevine information that the presidency has muted the idea of another Presidential Task Force after the success of similar arrangement in 2010.

It would be recalled that Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi, headed the task Force as then governor of Rivers State.

But for that timely intervention, Nigeria would have missed out from the maiden World Cup hosted in Africa.

Independent gathered that following the failures of the present administration of football to qualify for both the senior and cadet Africa Cup of Nations,  and U-17 Championships,  some persons in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration have raised concerns,  hence the move to set up an independent body.

“The fact is that the present administration of football cannot qualify the Super Eagles for the World Cup.  We saw it at the Nations Cup qualifiers, it happened in the U-20 and U-17 Sudan and Niger Republic stopped us. Is it Egypt, Algeria and Cameroon that will spare us?  We can’t leave this in the hands of this people, “our source hinted.
